Informe provisional del seguimiento de la mortalidad de vertebrados en las carreteras de Albacete.

Three stretches in roads with different characteristics and traffic load were surveyed in Albacete province (SE Spain): a national road (N-322 Albacete-Los Chospes), a local road (C-3211 Albacete-Ayna) and an unpaved road (Ayna-Riopar). A number of different biotopes were also surveyed (woodlots, scrubland, orchards, poplar plantations, and fields). Casualty distribution among vertebrate taxa: birds (35%), mammals (28%), reptiles (14%), and amphibians (10%). The authors discuss that variation in the frequency of occurrence of different taxa in different types of road were not significant because of irregular sampling. Nonetheless, more kills were found in straight road stretches, and in stretches where speed was highest, especially in correspondence with low visibility in curves or level shifts.

Se prospectaron tres tramos de carreteras con características distintas y volumenes de tráfico diferentes en la provincia de Albacete (SE España): una carretera nacional (N-322 Albacete-Los Chospes), una carretera local (C-3211 Albacete-Ayna) y una carretera no pavimentada (Ayna-Riopar). Además se prospectaron varios biotopos distintos (manchas de bosque, arbustivo, plantaciones de frutales, plantaciones de chopos, y campos). La distribución de atropellos entre los taxones de vertebrados fue: aves (35%), mamíferos (28%), reptiles (14%), y anfibios (10%). Los autores comentan que la variación en cuanto a la frecuencia de ocurrencia de los diferentes taxones e distintos tipos de carreteras no fueron significativos a causa de un muestreo irregular. Sin embargo, se registraron más mortandades en tramos rectos de carreteras, y en tramos donde la velocidad fue mayor, especialmente en asociación con una reducida visibilidad en las curvas o en cambios de resante.
