Informe provisional del seguimiento de la mortalidad de vertebrados en las carreteras de Córdoba.

Six transects across three different biotopes of Córdoba province (S Spain) were carried out on a monthly basis. A black spot for amphibians was discovered near a temporal pool where traffic density was very high. Removing these data from the analysis, birds were the most affected taxa (34.8%), followed by mammals (24.1%), reptiles and amphibians. Among the five most killed bird species three were nocturnal. Among the five most killed mammal species three were domestic. The number of casualties per kilometre in local roads and national roads with low traffic was lower than national roads, the latter having more traffic and a more humanized environment. Road kills were uniformly distributed among seasons, with the exception of Athene noctua (only in late spring-early summer) and Tyto alba (winter and early spring).

Se prospectaron seis transectos con periodicidad mensual en tres biotopos de la provincia de Córdoba (S España). Se localizó un punto negro de atropellos de anfibios cerca de una charca temporal donde la intensidad de tráfico era muy elevada. Con la eliminación de estos datos del análisis, las aves resultaron ser el taxon más afectado (34,8%), seguido por los mamíferos (24,1%), los reptiles y los anfibios. Entre las cinco especies más atropelladas de aves, tres fueron nocturnas. Entre las cinco especies más atropelladas de mamíferos, tres fueron domésticos. El número de atropellos por km en las carreteras locales y nacionales con una baja densidad de tráfico fue inferior que en las carreteras nacionales, las últimas con más tránsito y un entorno más humanizado. Los atropellos tuvieron una distribución uniforme entre estaciones, con la excepción del mochuelo Athene noctua (solamente a finales de la primavera-principios de verano) y la lechuza común Tyto alba (invierno y principios de la primavera).
