In this report, crossing rates by young Iberian lynx during dispersal across several types of roads are compared. All individuals that faced small local roads crossed them, while only half of the individuals encountering a motorway in their way did it. Intermediate large roads were crossed by about 80% of dispersing lynx. This pattern clearly suggests that the width and traffic load of roads is directly related to the degree of the barrier effect to lynx movements. There is indication that two of the lynx that crossed a highway went under bridges over the course of small streams.

En este informe se comparan las tasas de cruce de jovenes de lince ibérico durante la fase de dispersión a través de varios tipos de carreteras. Todos los individuos que se encontraban con una carretera pequeña local la cruzaron, mientras que solamente la mitad de los que encontraban una autopista en su camino lograban cruzar. Las carreteras grandes intermedias fueron cruzadas por aproximadamente el 80% de los linces dispersantes. Esta pauta sugiere claramente que la anchura y volumen de tráfico de las vías tiene una relación directa con el grado del efecto barrera a los movimientos del lince. Hay indicaciones que dos de los linces que cruzaron una autopista lo hicieron a través de puentes de cruzan pequeños arroyos.
