Vertebrados atropellados en dos carreteras orensanas. Primer informe.

Data on vertebrate mortality in two roads of Orense province (NW Spain). A total of 18 km were surveyed in one national and one local road during six months on a weekly basis. A higher number of casualties per kilometre was found in the road located in the best natural environment. There was a trend for kills to concentrate in road stretches by the interface of two different habitats.

Se presentan datos sobre la mortalidad de vertebrados en dos carreteras de la provincia de Orense (NO España). En total se controlaron 18 km en una carretera nacional y otra local durante seis meses de forma semanal. Se registró un número más elevado de atropellos por km en la carretera situada en el mejor ambiente. Hubo una tendencia de concentrarse los atropellos en tramos de carretera al lado de puntos de encuentro de dos hábitats distintos.
